We have extensive records and books relating to Benalla and its Districts which encompass a 40 km. radius from Benalla. We also house 1260 photographs of the Howship Collection in collaboration with the University of Melbourne.
These photographs of individuals, groups, events, scenes, buildings in and around Benalla paint a vivid portrait of life a hundred years ago. As well many of the donated Family History Stories contain photographs of local families and their properties, not to mention the exhaustive stories of life before, during and after life in Benalla.
We have hundreds of maps of the local Benalla area, including Badaginnie, Devenish, Glenrowan, Goorambat and many more. These maps date back to Circa 1850
